Band 8b Neurodevelopmental Diagnostic Service Lead
The Neurodevelopmental Diagnostic Service Lead will be responsible for leading and directing the neurodevelopmental diagnostic multidisciplinary team. This leadership role involves collaborating with key stakeholders and being part of the Barnet Community Paediatric Service, with a focus on positively impacting the lives of children and their parents/carers during the diagnostic process.
Main Duties of the Job
1. Design, recruit, and manage the MDT.
2. Build effective working relationships with partner agencies, specifically community integrated therapies and CAMHS.
3. Lead service development alongside the NCL ICB service transformation project team.
4. Oversee governance, including clinical effectiveness, quality and safety performance, and risk management.
5. Apply advanced clinical judgment and knowledge of neurodevelopmental conditions for diagnosis and management, demonstrating leadership.
6. Maintain ongoing responsibility as a clinical expert for high-quality patient care.
7. Ensure clinical outcomes and patient experience are central to service design.
8. Promote evidence-based practice within the team.
9. Develop and review policies and practices in pain management.
10. Innovate in neurodevelopmental diagnosis within the Trust and across the NCL team.
11. Lead education and training for the MDT locally, across the Trust, and NCL network.
12. Support staff development within the multidisciplinary team through formal and informal education.
13. Enhance the profile and reputation of the Royal Free service at NCL and national levels.

* Experience in NHS performance management and staff development.
* Significant experience in autism assessment services for pre-school children.
* Leadership and management achievements, including change management.
* Knowledge of the Barnet health, early years, and education economy.
* Experience in research projects and incorporating evidence into practice.
