NHS 111 Integrated Urgent Care Clinical Advisor
Salary: Band 6 (£37,338 - £44,962) + unsocial hours allowance as per section 2 Agenda for Change.
Are you equipped to evaluate a person in the midst of a stroke or heart attack, and equally prepared to provide support to someone suffering from a sore throat or toothache? Can you handle the responsibility of calming someone in a mental health crisis or comforting a distressed parent whose child has taken a fall and bumped their head? The 111 Service fields a diverse range of calls, meaning that no two calls are ever the same. As an initial point of contact for patients, you have the opportunity to significantly impact their care and overall experience.
Full and part-time positions are available, with a minimum requirement of 24 hours per week.
Interviews will be held in the week commencing 2nd June.

Your role will involve calling patients to assess their symptoms clinically while collaborating within a multidisciplinary team, including health advisors, nurses, paramedics, mental health practitioners, pharmacists, and more, to ensure each patient receives the right care, in the right place, the first time.
You need to be a good communicator with an excellent telephone manner. It is essential that you are computer literate and eager to learn new skills. You must be passionate about high-quality patient care, caring, and able to remain calm under pressure.

Job responsibilities
You will need to commit to a 9-week full-time training program, which will be fully paid.
Essential requirements include:
* NMC registration or HCPC registration
* At least 3 years of post-registration professional experience
* Ability to remain calm under pressure
* Good computer literacy
* Effective communication skills
* Recent professional clinical experience
* Willingness to work 5/8 weekends in a 4-week period with shifts of 6/8 hours
* Motivation for further professional development
* Understanding of Clinical Governance and audit practices
* Flexible working approach

Experience
* Recent professional experience
* Experience dealing with emotionally charged situations
* Previous experience in a call centre environment such as NHS Direct
* Supervisory, coaching, or mentoring experience
Qualifications
* Registered general nurse (RN1, RNA), Specialist Practitioner, or Paramedic
* Valid registration with NMC/HCPC
* Teaching or assessing qualification
