Job Title: Business Development Manager (Perth)
Overview:
An international insurance and risk advisory group is seeking a dynamic Business Development Manager. This leadership role will focus on the strategic direction, management, and performance of the telesales and lead-generation function, collaborating closely with divisional leaders to deliver on ambitious growth targets.
Key Responsibilities:
Team & Business Management
1. Lead, structure, and inspire a high-performing telesales and lead generation team (7 FTEs) to achieve new business growth.
2. Collaborate with Divisional Heads on strategic initiatives, campaign planning, and project execution to ensure consistent pipeline development.
3. Work cross-functionally with the Data and Marketing teams, providing feedback on lead quality, campaign success, and improvements.
4. Ensure all projects and campaigns are well-structured, communicated, and analysed for continuous improvement.
5. Uphold efficient working practices and ensure operational compliance.
Financial & Pipeline Management
6. Take ownership for meeting or exceeding new business revenue and pipeline targets.
7. Collaborate on strategic financial planning for the region, including project-level reporting, pipeline management, and forecasting.
8. Conduct weekly and project-end activity reporting for regional and divisional leadership.
People Development
9. Provide ongoing coaching, call reviews, and technical upskilling to team members.
10. Build and implement development plans, identify training needs, and encourage pursuit of professional qualifications (e.g., CII).
11. Conduct regular performance reviews and support individual growth pathways.
Operational Excellence
12. Ensure all activities align with compliance requirements and positive customer outcomes.
13. Manage day-to-day workflows and team performance accountability.
Desired Experience & Qualifications
14. Proven background in telesales or lead generation management ideally within financial services, insurance, or a related sector.
15. Track record of implementing effective processes, driving change, and exceeding financial targets.
16. Strong collaborator and communicator, comfortable working across commercial, marketing, and data teams.
17. Demonstrated leadership - able to inspire, support, and develop high-performance teams.
18. Highly organised and delivery-focused, with excellent analytical, reporting, and strategic planning skills.
