Your role:
As technical officer within the adaptations team you will be responsible for the delivery of complex major adaptations across the Wigan Borough in both Council owned and private properties. You will work closely with architects and other specialist partners from initial feasibility through to completion. You will provide technical support and advice to colleagues and you will be the first point of contact for residents, contractors and consultants and will work closely with wider council teams and other partners.
You will monitor adaptation works to ensure that an efficient, effective and quality service is provided focusing on the individual needs of the often-vulnerable client group.
About you:
You will hold a HNC or HND in construction or be qualified to the same level in a relevant technical professional discipline or have extensive technical experience relevant to the role and evidence of continued professional development.
Knowledge and understanding of construction methods and an ability to diagnose building defects.
Significant experience of working in a construction related field with a high level of technical building knowledge.
You will hold a full UK driving license and be insured for business purposes.
