Are you an experienced disability professional who can provide specialist advice to disabled students and offer guidance and support from application to graduation?
The Disability Service is looking for a new Disability Advisor to join their team
(This is a part-time 0.4 role)
About the Role
As our Disability Adviser you will support students with complex needs. The role involves managing a caseload of disabled students, providing both virtual and in-person advice, assessing individual needs, and implementing reasonable adjustments.
You will assist with Disabled Students' Allowance applications and work closely with university staff and external agencies to ensure effective support is in place, helping students thrive in their studies.
About You
Degree qualification or equivalent experience
Minimum of two years' experience of working with disabled individuals in education or other public/voluntary sector organisation
Thorough knowledge and understanding of equality, diversity, and inclusion principles and legislative requirements, as well as confidentiality and data protection.
Proficiency in using institutional IT systems to manage student records and case management.
Relevant postgraduate qualification or professional experience including NADP accreditation.
A working knowledge of Disabled Students' Allowance.
An understanding of the student experience and the HE context more broadly. Inclusion principles and widening participation as they affect disabled students; issues relating to course delivery for disabled students.
- Knowledge and experience of assistive technology and its use to benefit disabled students.

Additional Information
Salary Grade 6 - Starting from £13,580 rising to £15,077 per annum, pro rata £33,951 - £37,694
The salary range shows the potential maximum pay progression in addition to any annual inflationary increase to your pay. Please note that our default position is to appoint into the lower end of the range, unless there are exceptional circumstances.
* The post-holder will engage in relevant training and actively participate in expanding their knowledge of Student Experience within Bath Spa University. Occasional out-of-hours working, including evenings and specific weekends during academic events, may be required.

Annual leave opportunities during term time, particularly in September and October, will be limited to ensure continuity of service provision.
