Overview
Band 6 midwife with special interest in working with women and families who have complex social factors to join the Ruby Team. The team delivers continuity of care to a caseload of women including teenagers, those with learning disabilities, victims of domestic abuse, substance abusers, women experiencing moderate to severe mental health issues, and women with complex safeguarding issues.
Responsibilities
* Provide antenatal and postnatal care in hospital and community clinic settings and in women’s homes.
* Deliver safe and effective midwifery care to women and families who have complex social factors.
* Work in partnership within a multidisciplinary team that includes specialist safeguarding and perinatal mental health midwives, social services, obstetric and psychiatric consultants, health visitors, family nurses, neonatal consultants and nurses, and community support agencies.
* Ensure comprehensive, compassionate and enhanced midwifery care to some of the borough’s most vulnerable clients while providing the highest standard of individualised and holistic patient care.
Qualifications
* Band 6 registered midwife with a special interest in caring for vulnerable women.
* Good understanding of maternity safeguarding.
* Excellent communication, time management skills and a proactive team player.
