Learn to drive the tractor trailer for tours of the 170-acre heritage site with beautiful natural surroundings.
Detailed description
The Royal Gunpowder Mills is a 170-acre site protected for its industrial heritage and natural history. Almost the entire site is designated as a Scheduled Ancient Monument (SAM) and a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI).
We open to the public to share exhibitions, offer tours, and activities.
The charity aims to protect, preserve, and enhance the site's unique aspects and to share the stories of its industrial, social history, science, and nature.
Visitors can take a 30+ minute guided tractor trailer tour around the site, where they can learn about RGM’s history.
As a volunteer driver, you will learn the route and skills needed to maneuver the tractor and trailer around the bends and over bridges, providing a comfortable ride for visitors.
Requirements include a full UK driving licence and passing an assessment.
RGM is a heritage site and visitor attraction, relying on volunteers to help preserve and share its 170 acres of protected industrial and natural history. See more opportunities by Royal Gunpowder Mills.
