We are looking for an experienced innovative clinical nurse with extensive expertise in paediatric nursing to lead our community children’s nursing team (CCNT) for a 12 month secondment. Our CCNT sits within a wider multi-disciplinary service including Nursing (Specialist School Nursing, Asthma, Epilepsy, Continuing care, Enuresis, Diana palliative care team) and Community paediatric dieticians.
You will lead a team of nurses delivering specialist nursing care in a variety of community settings. Care includes accessing central venous access devices, home oxygen therapy, non-invasive ventilation, tracheostomy care and enteral feeding for children with a variety of conditions including oncology, cardiac, chronic respiratory conditions, eczema and complex medical needs within their home or other community settings.
You will have excellent organisational and interpersonal skills, experience of leadership and be able to work within a senior management team to support the wider service. f the team. You should be highly motivated, caring and passionate about improving the healthcare and wellbeing of children and young people in Newham. Main duties of the job
1. To work as the nurse team lead for the Children’s Community Nursing Team and act as an expert resource to staff within the wider service.
2. To lead on expert care planning and deliver care for children who have a community health need.
3. Work in partnership with all agencies with the aim of minimising the impact of healthcare need to everyday life
4. To work in partnership with other lead nurses for CCNS, forming part of the senior management team within Children’s Community Nursing Service (CCNS)
5. To manage a clinical caseload to include children with a variety of health needs, involving those who are enterally fed, have central venous devices in situ, are oxygen dependant, require wound management or complex dermatological conditions as example.
6. Take responsibility for line management of junior members of the team associate to caseload

7. •RSCN/ RN Child Branch
8. •Current NMC registration
9. •Community Children’s Specialist Practitioner Qualification (SpQ)

11. •1st Level Degree (or working towards)

14. •Significant experience at Band 6 working with children & young people in the community
