Job summary
Harrogate is a vibrant, picturesque spa town with excellent housing, sought-after schools, and was voted the happiest place to live in the UK. It is accessible by motorways and rail, near Leeds Bradford. The population in 2021 was 16,263.
The area has diverse mental health needs, with both affluent and deprived communities.
This post was vacated by the previous substantive consultant.
The Harrogate area is served by two community mental health teams: HICT and RICT, based at Valley Gardens Resource Centre. The post involves working with the Ripon Integrated Community team, which covers Ripon, Knaresborough, and Boroughbridge.
Main duties of the job
The role involves providing consultant input aligned with New Ways of Working, including outpatient clinics, formulation, review meetings, and Mental Health Act work. Inpatient services are provided from Foss Park Hospital in York, with support from the crisis resolution team.
You will not act as a care coordinator but as a lead professional for non-CPA patients, conducting up to 2 new assessments and 10 follow-ups weekly, with regular caseload reviews.
Supervision of junior staff will be shared with another post holder working 5 PAs.
