Location: Stratford, University of Huddersfield, London Campus
Salary: Up to £90,000 per annum
Study Group will deliver a selection of postgraduate and undergraduate courses for the University of Huddersfield (UoH) at a campus in London. Several pathway programmes designed to progress to these courses will also be offered. The campus aims to attract a diverse international student body seeking high-quality teaching and strong employability options in London.
The Head of School will provide academic and operational leadership to the teams responsible for delivery at the UoH London campus. Responsibilities include ensuring quality compliance with UoH’s Quality Assurance procedures, driving enhancements for exceptional student outcomes and experience, overseeing scholarly activity and research, and liaising with UoH on operational and academic matters.
About the Role
1. Provide inspirational leadership across the campus, collaborating with management, UoH, and Study Group teams.
2. Implement a vision for continuous improvement to meet student outcome and progression targets.
3. Work with university, business development, and student recruitment teams to develop joint courses and pathways to maximize recruitment.
4. Participate in university partnership boards and committees, reporting regularly on progress.
5. Maintain high academic standards, contribute to scholarly activities, and promote professional engagement.
6. Ensure staff are qualified, trained, honest, and professional, complying with legal and regulatory standards.
7. Recruit qualified academic staff, ensuring appropriate workload, development, and research opportunities.
8. Lead planning, management, and delivery of academic programmes to ensure quality and student success.
9. Drive the introduction of new courses and products aligned with strategic partnership plans.
10. Develop and execute the Campus Partnership Development Plan.
11. Build internal partnerships with key stakeholders across Study Group’s operations.
12. Handle serious incidents and crises effectively, following escalation protocols.
13. Address daily issues collaboratively to resolve problems efficiently.
14. Manage performance against key academic KPIs to meet business objectives.
15. Support student retention by leveraging networks and partnerships.
Additional Responsibilities
1. Ensure delivery of franchised courses aligns with UoH QA procedures.
2. Maintain quality frameworks across all courses.
3. Establish and chair course committees and student panels, ensuring proper documentation.
4. Analyze data and feedback to monitor progress and implement remedial actions.
5. Lead the Annual Evaluation Process and prepare reports for UoH and Study Group.
6. Prepare courses for approval and re-approval, and propose course changes.
About You
1. Doctorate in a relevant discipline.
2. Fellowship of AdvanceHE or commitment to achieve within 12 months.
3. Strong professional standing and leadership skills.
4. Experience in academic leadership, ideally in an international context.
5. Experience teaching in UK higher education and leading innovation.
6. Experience working with international students and managing complex education programmes.
7. Proven record of partnership management in education sector.
8. High-quality research publication record.
