About the Position:
The Virginia State Police (VSP) is seeking to hire a Food Production Worker A in our Training Division at State Police Headquarters in North Chesterfield, Virginia. The job duties for this position include but are not limited to:
• Preparing food items in the State Police Academy cafeteria in accordance with State Police dining room procedures and Department of Health regulations.
• Cleaning cooking utensils, deep fryer, food slicer, grill, and other machinery used in the preparation and cooking of meals according to the Department of Health regulations daily.

Minimum Qualifications
Knowledge:
• Working knowledge of standard food preparation methods used in preparing and serving a variety of foods from fresh, canned, dry or frozen.
• Of cleaning and sanitation methods used in a food service environment.
• Of food storage methods.
• Of basic mathematics.
Ability:
• To prepare, assemble and serve a variety of foods.
• To work rapidly and efficiently in performing job duties.
• To work cohesively with peers, supervisors, and customers.
• To apply and maintain standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and personal hygiene.
• To read, write, and communicate in English.
• To demonstrate excellent customer service skills on an ongoing basis.
• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds unassisted.
• Must be able to stand and walk on concrete and tile floors for long periods of time.
• Must be able to work in refrigerated areas.
• Graduation from high school or equivalent.
Additional Considerations
• ServSafe certification preferred.
