Reports to: Aquatics Supervisor/Assistant General Manager
Description: SafeSplash Swim Instructors are responsible for teaching in accordance with the SafeSplash curriculum and certification standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
* Teach swimming skills according to the SafeSplash curriculum in a fun, positive manner.
* Provide continuous, positive corrective feedback to students and customers.
* Structure class time to include repetition, reinforcement, and introduction of skills.
* Maintain proper equipment and organize time to ensure timely class starts.
* Communicate class information (ribbons, student changes, etc.) to the Deck Supervisor.
* Provide individualized feedback to customers during Splash ‘N Tell week.
* Maintain proper uniform standards as outlined in the employee handbook.
Qualifications and Requirements:
* Previous swim instruction experience preferred.
* Experience teaching swimmers aged 6 months to 10 years and with Special Needs is a plus.
* Training in the SafeSplash curriculum will be provided.
* Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
Uniforms:
Instructors must wear SafeSplash uniforms, including logoed female one-piece suits and male board shorts, while instructing in the pool.
Hours: 12-30 hours per week
Compensation: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour, commensurate with experience and skills
