Role Purpose
The Business Development Manager is a key position responsible for driving growth within the UK Consumer and B2C organization. The role focuses on expanding the consumer customer base across mainstream retail and e-commerce channels.
Key Responsibilities
1. Establish strong, long-term client relationships with a list of key retailers to be agreed upon.
2. Plan and arrange visits to clients to cover current and future sales opportunities.
3. Monitor the UK consumer lighting market, identify opportunities, and observe competitor activity.
4. Review market opportunities aligned with Sylvanias offer and identify gaps.
5. Gather, record, and report on customer EPOS data and retail pricing.
6. Apply "Best Practice" principles with a category management approach, focusing on the 4 "P’s" — product, price, promotion, and placement.
7. Review competitor activity within the lighting category and report trends.
8. Collaborate with leadership teams to provide credible and reliable input to the forecasting process.
9. Create Joint Business Plans (JBP) to support customer growth and Sylvanias objectives.
10. Manage client administration effectively.
11. Handle after-sales issues in collaboration with the Commercial and After Sales teams to ensure excellent customer service.
12. Complete all internal administrative reports accurately and promptly to improve selling efficiency.
Person Specification and Background
* Proven success in the consumer market.
* Core competencies include Sales, Account Management, Negotiation, Presentation, Results Orientation, Decisiveness, and Entrepreneurial Skills.
* Ability to build effective cross-functional relationships.
* Proactive self-starter with strong motivation.
* Proficient in English (spoken and written).
* Strong IT skills.
* Full UK Driving License.
* Willingness to travel extensively within the UK.
