Are you an experienced production professional looking to take the next step into leadership? We are seeking a Deputy Team Leader to support production operations within a growing manufacturing environment.
In this role, you will provide day-to-day supervision of technicians on the shop floor, ensuring production tasks are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. Acting as the first point of contact for technicians, you'll allocate daily workloads, support with problem-solving, and escalate issues where required.
This is a hands-on role, well-suited to someone who enjoys working closely with a team, promoting a positive and safe workplace culture, and driving continuous improvement. You will play a key part in maintaining workflow continuity and supporting the Production Team Leader in delivering on operational targets.
Key Responsibilities
* Supervise technicians and panel wirers during shift operations and allocate daily tasks.
* Monitor adherence to work instructions, safety protocols, and quality standards.
* Interpret technical drawings and provide guidance on assembly and troubleshooting.
* Report on production progress and communicate priorities to the team.
* Support onboarding and training of new technicians.
* Act as the first line of support for operational queries, escalating issues where needed.
* Promote lean practices, 5S compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives.
About You
We're looking for someone who is organised, approachable, and confident in a fast-paced environment. You should have:
* Proven experience supervising technicians in a production or assembly setting.
* Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise between technicians and management.
* Solid problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
* Knowledge of workplace safety protocols, PPE, and quality standards.
Desirable experience includes:
* Background in electrical or mechanical assembly.
* Familiarity with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methods.
* Hands-on experience working with high-voltage equipment.
