Hours: Average 39 hours per week (169 hours per month). FTE pro rata for part-time. This includes 9 contractual sleeps per month.

About the role: A Senior Support Worker in a children’s residential setting, focused on delivering therapeutic care and supporting young people aged 8 to 18 to feel safe, supported, and empowered to thrive.

What You’ll Do as a Senior Support Worker
* Be a positive role model to the children and your team, leading by example with empathy, consistency, and integrity.
* Take an active role in creating and maintaining a safe, stimulating environment.
* Support children who may have experienced trauma, with behaviours that challenge, with compassion and strength.
* Contribute to and lead on key working, risk assessments, and care planning.
* Guide and mentor junior staff, promoting best practice across the home.
* Assist the Registered Manager and Deputy in ensuring high standards, policy compliance, and quality assurance.
About You

* Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
* Solid knowledge of Children’s Homes Regulations (2015) & Ofsted requirements
* Experience with children/young people with autism, learning disabilities, or behavioural challenges
* Resilient, calm under pressure, and skilled in de-escalation
* Confident communicator, strong team player, and IT proficient
* Willingness to work a shift pattern including weekends, evenings, and sleep-ins
