Grand Central is an open-access train operator linking the North East and West Yorkshire with London. We are also part of Arriva who have a large and diverse portfolio of train and bus operating companies in the UK and Europe.
Contract; this is a fixed term contract working Monday to Friday with hybrid working options.
What will I be doing as an Assistant Management Accountant?
Reporting into the Management Accountant you will assist to secure the integrity of the financial data. You will assist with periodic financial accounting and reporting to various departments within Grand Central. Duties will include but not limited to;
* Assisting with month end accounts
* Calculating and posting accruals and prepayments
* Maintaining and supporting accruals analysis
* Carrying out profit and loss variance analysis, and commentary against budgets
* Balance sheet account reconciliations
* Analysing financial results
* Providing support to budget holders analysing cost/sales information
* Reporting on periodic numbers
* Supporting the Management Accountant
What will I need to be successful as an Assistant Management Accountant?
* Previous experience as an Assistant to Financial Accountant or Management Accountant role
* Excellent attention to detail
* Proficient user of Microsoft Office packages
* Ability to manage competing and strict deadlines.
