Here at Travis Perkins we’re urgently recruiting for a Product Development Manager to join us on a 12 month fixed term contract providing maternity cover.
As our Product Development Manager, you’ll lead and own the product development lifecycle for specific Benchmarx categories, focusing on portfolio profitability and SKU efficiency to enhance our market-leading product offer. Your responsibilities include detailed SKU data analysis, market insights, product design, innovation, development, and value engineering to future-proof the Benchmarx kitchen assortment.
Driving license & access to a car is preferred as you will need to visit suppliers and branches.
What you’ll do:
* Identify and develop market-leading, customer-led design initiatives to drive profitable growth in Kitchen Categories.
* Define product range & manage portfolio, creating usable data for range mapping.
* Review range profitability and collaborate with the Head of Product to decide on development, retention, reduction, or elimination.
* Lead and coordinate on selection and decision-making, ensuring business cases demonstrate profitability and SKU efficiency, understanding the full cost to serve.
* Build constructive relationships within the team, with Marketing, and the Product Development Panel.
* Maintain relationships with strategic suppliers to stay ahead of trends and opportunities.
* Support Marketing with CGI/photography, catalogue content, in-store graphics/POS, layouts, bay designs, and display solutions.
* Assist the Head of Product with the end-to-end Go-To-Market strategy, NPD implementation, stock management, and data compliance.
Ideally you’ll have:
* Experience in a Product Development role or relevant industry experience.
* Category Management & Product Development / Design experience in retail or trade businesses.
* Technical awareness of Kitchens with trend interpretation skills.
* Strong analytical skills to manipulate data and identify opportunities.
