We are working with a global, well-established investment manager seeking to hire an Institutional Relationship Manager on a fixed-term basis (9–12 months maternity cover) within their London office.
This is a high-profile, client-facing role offering the opportunity to manage and develop relationships with a broad institutional client base across the UK, Europe and APAC, while working closely with internal investment and distribution teams.
The Role
You will be responsible for delivering a best-in-class client experience across a portfolio of institutional relationships, acting as the primary point of contact and trusted advisor to sophisticated investors including pension funds, endowments, foundations and family offices.
You will play a key role in supporting client retention, deepening strategic relationships, and contributing to the continued growth of the firm’s international institutional business.
Key Responsibilities
* Act as the lead relationship manager for a portfolio of international institutional clients
* Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key client stakeholders and consultants
* Deliver high-quality, solutions-oriented client service tailored to individual client needs
* Lead client meetings, reviews and discussions on performance, portfolio positioning and market developments
* Coordinate investor communications, reporting and ongoing engagement activity
* Support client retention efforts, including navigating periods of underperformance
* Manage CRM systems and maintain accurate records of client interactions and pipeline activity
* Partner with internal teams across investments, operations and compliance to ensure seamless client livery
* Support onboarding processes, due diligence requests and ongoing client servicing requirements
* Collaborate with sales and consultant relations teams to identify opportunities for deeper engagement
Ideal Candidate
* 5+ years’ experience in institutional relationship management, client service or a similar role within asset management
* Immediately available to start/ 1-2 week notice period.
* Proven track record managing sophisticated institutional client relationships
* Strong understanding of institutional investors, consultants and global distribution channels
* Commercially minded with a relationship-led, consultative approach
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
* Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
* Experience using CRM systems (e.g. Salesforce) and strong proficiency in Microsoft Office
* Relevant industry qualifications (e.g. IMC) are advantageous
