PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: £32,500 - £42,000 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

JOB PURPOSE
We are looking for a Digital Designer to join our dynamic and fast-paced News Design team. This role places you at the creative forefront of global news events for both broadcast and digital platforms, in a rapidly changing world. It offers a unique opportunity to use your talent and skills to enhance and augment global news content through high-impact visual storytelling.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & IMPACT
* Creative thinker: Be a creative thinker and a great designer who can work within a framework but isn’t afraid to take risks.
* Driven: Pursue and explore creative concepts autonomously and collaboratively.
* Adaptable: Create concepts that work across multiple formats from broadcast to social media.
* Collaborative: Work with motion designers, editors, and journalists to create and deploy digital designs.
* Accountable: Regularly check in with the Creative Director to develop and deliver concepts primarily for digital platforms, also for broadcast.
* Deadlines: Work effectively under tight deadlines without compromising quality.
YOUR SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
* Excellent knowledge of Figma
* Excellent knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud apps including Illustrator and Photoshop
* Strong interest in exploring new and emerging design tools
* Good understanding of AI applications within design methodologies
DESIRED BUT NOT REQUIRED
* Experience with Adobe After Effects and Premiere
* Experience with digital animation tools like Lottie and Rive
* Experience with Canva
* Experience with Adobe Firefly, Runway, Midjourney
