Job Description
Purpose and Summary of Job: To work as a Therapeutic Practitioner within a Cambian Healthcare unit, operating as part of a rota and working in accordance with the Support Worker job description. The role involves assisting qualified and assistant psychologists in delivering psychological interventions under supervision, and implementing strategies in collaboration with the care team. The Therapeutic Practitioner will be supervised by a Qualified Psychologist and will be responsible for modeling strategies and supporting psychological and OT-led interventions.
Responsibilities:
1. Work with children and adolescents with mental health difficulties, admitted either informally or under section.
2. Participate in personal appraisal and ongoing professional development as agreed with the Hospital Manager and Qualified Psychologist.
3. Utilize knowledge from a good honours degree in psychology and graduate membership of the BPS.
4. Observe professional codes of practice, hospital policies, and employment terms.
5. Prepare behavioral plans, informational leaflets, and visual aids to support psychological interventions.
6. Undertake administrative duties as required.
7. Perform other similar duties within your capability as directed by the Qualified Psychologist.
8. Promote the hospital's reputation by maintaining professionalism and a positive attitude towards young people, families, visitors, and colleagues.
9. Practice non-discriminatory principles in all work aspects.
10. Adhere to all policies, procedures, standards, and legal requirements including the Mental Health Act and associated guidelines.
