Offer description

Chair of Insight Xchange (Board Co-optee) Location: Spennymoor, County Durham Salary: £8,600 per annum plus expenses Contract Type: One year, the subject to review by the Board About us We are an award-winning not for profit housing association that currently owns over 9,000 homes across County Durham. We offer more than just a home. We help improve the lives of the people living in our homes and in our places. We work hard to make sure those homes are high quality, sustainable and adaptable, while meeting tenants’ current and future aspirations. We offer support that help people into work and training and increase their financial confidence and stability. Our Plan A sets out our strategy for a realistic path to success. It's flexible. It can cope with the things we do not yet know. Importantly it’s cohesive, ensuring we are working together with our teams, partners, tenants and residents to maximise the impact we can make by improving lives through the provision of sustainable homes and places. About the role As Chair of InsightXchange, you’ll empower tenants to scrutinise services and influence how they are delivered. Working closely with the Customer Experience team, you’ll ensure insight is evidence-based, outcomes-focused and shapes Board and committee decisions. As a Board Co-optee, you’ll help deliver effective governance, ensure the customer voice informs our strategy, and promote equality, diversity and inclusion. You will lead monthly InsightXChange meetings, build strong relationships with tenants and stakeholders, and ensure activities meet the Regulator’s Transparency, Influence and Accountability Standard. You’ll oversee scrutiny of performance, complaints, Tenant Satisfaction Measures and consumer standards, and contribute to the Annual Customer Voice Report. About you You may have senior leadership experience in an executive or non-executive role and/or you may possess the skills, confidence and ability required to chair a scrutiny group. A strong understanding of social housing, tenant engagement and regulation would be advantageous, but we welcome applicants who can demonstrate strategic thinking, aptitude for interpreting data and effective influence at Board level, regardless of previous seniority. You’ll also align closely with Livin’s values – Trust, Respect, Innovate, Work Together and Own It – and be motivated by social purpose, governance excellence and continuous learning. Benefits Joining our Board offers the opportunity to make a tangible difference to tenants’ lives, influence the future direction of the organisation and contribute to strong, values-led governance. We are committed to building a diverse Board and welcome applications from people with a wide range of backgrounds and perspectives. Time Commitment You’ll attend four Board meetings a year, relevant committees, monthly InsightXChange meetings, and key events including the Annual Leadership Conference and mid-year Strategy Delivery Board. Ongoing engagement with the Chair, Chief Executive and Executive Team, plus regular learning and development, is expected. Applications from people with lived experience are welcome. For an informal discussion about the role please contact Paul Brennan, Head of people via email at .
