Job Description:
Freelance Consultant Programme Manager – the CEO’s closest collaborator
12-month contract | Key project | Remote-first | Regular organisation meets in London | In-person retreats
Help Lead One of the Most Ambitious Human Development Programmes in the UK
A Million Realities exists to equip the leaders our world needs—those with the courage, skill, and self-awareness to address societal challenges. Our two-year flagship programme is designed for changemakers tackling complex problems.
We’re seeking a Freelance Consultant Programme Manager who can handle significant scope and influence. You will be the operational backbone of the programme, from planning to execution, working closely with the CEO as the organisation evolves.
You are emotionally intelligent, precise in operations, and guided by strong values. Your background likely includes experience in high-performing, mission-driven environments such as fellowships, startups, incubators, or innovative education settings, where clarity, delivery, and adaptability are essential.
Beyond technical skills, you possess:
* Resilience and composure amidst complexity
* Ability to communicate in systems and human terms
* Awareness of dynamics of power, money, and emotion, with responsibility for your role within them
* Interest in inner work, human development, and systemic change
* Skills in boundary-setting and trust-building
* Ownership mindset and eagerness for responsibility
* Enjoyment of freelance work, managing your schedule, and balancing this role with other energising projects
What You’ll Own
Over 12 months, you will ensure our flagship two-year programme is efficient, scalable, and impactful.
Programme Delivery & Operations
* Manage the entire programme lifecycle: application, onboarding, retreats, alumni engagement
* Develop systems and automations for smooth delivery
* Design and maintain scalable infrastructure (e.g., Notion, Airtable)
* Track performance, impact, and report insights to stakeholders
Community & Communications
* Serve as the main contact for applicants, fellows, and alumni
* Create resources to streamline communication and foster community
* Support messaging via newsletters, blogs, and platforms
* Collaborate with the CEO to translate vision into action
* Test new formats, events, and initiatives to expand reach and impact
* Contribute insights and challenges to organisational strategy
On Retreat
* Coordinate with the Head of Expeditions to ensure retreat logistics are well-managed
Why This Role?
This role offers leadership-like influence in a small, mission-driven organisation. You will shape an innovative initiative with ambitious, self-aware individuals committed to genuine transformation—personal, relational, and societal.
You will gain:
* Significant responsibility and influence
* A culture valuing personal growth, inner work, and boundaries
* Flexibility in work arrangements (remote-first, with in-person meetings)
* Opportunities to travel and experience unique locations
* Development opportunities embedded in our culture
* Close collaboration with founders, trustees, and the CEO
* The chance to contribute to meaningful work at a crucial time
We seek not just skills but alignment with our values. You believe that:
* Real change requires inner and outer work
* Accountability is rooted in integrity
* Community is built through clarity, care, and attention
The process includes applying via LinkedIn, completing an application form, interviews, and possibly a second in-person interview (expenses paid). As a freelancer, you will manage your own equipment, taxes, and insurance.
