Brief description of role
We are seeking a Kit Room Technician to support the day-to-day duties of the warehouse function. This role will be working primarily from CineArk’s main facility in High Wycombe, Bucks, but will be required to travel to and work in other regions, including at CineArk’s Cardiff and Dublin offices, to cover demand at these offices. The Kit Room Technician will play a vital role in ensuring that our business runs smoothly, and our customers are satisfied. The right candidate will be process driven with a good degree of flexibility, initiative, common sense and have a strong understanding of working efficiently.
You will need to be someone who finds it easy to learn how to use new technical equipment and enjoys problem solving. You will be a team player with a positive outlook and a can-do attitude. You’ll also need to have a practical, hands-on approach to all tasks, the ability to manage workload and work to strict deadlines with attention to detail.
The successful candidate will be provided with extensive training during their time in the Kit Room, starting as a Trainee with the opportunity to work your way up through the various roles to a Head Kit Room Technician. During each of the various roles within Kit Room you will complete training on different tasks such as logistics, administration, driving, check-in, check-out and support, learning various skills and detailed knowledge of the equipment.
Role and Responsibilities:
* Daily duties in the warehouse, including assisting with logistics, deliveries, and customer service.
* Interrogating and updating cheatsheets for updated information
* Regional cover – travelling to our other locations to prep or derig kit
* Goods In – receiving deliveries/post and processing related paperwork, checking technical equipment is in good working order.
* Goods Out – Looking after all outbound collections, ensuring goods are picked, packed and loaded.
* Adhering to all legislation requirements for warehousing and handling.
* Maintaining standards of health and safety, hygiene, and security in the work environment.
* Managing the paperwork for goods in/out, inventory control, regular stock counts, responding to Client / suppliers queries, general administration duties.
* Ensuring good housekeeping within the Warehouse and specific departments.
* Shipping goods – preparing goods for shipping, confirming weights, dimensions and details.
* Building and testing the AV technical equipment for hire.
* Receiving and processing new products – asset listing and uploading information onto our dedicated asset management system.
* Maintaining the inventory/stock control systems to ensure equipment is located, stored, and transferred correctly; ensuring the stock inventory is accurate.
* Driving Vans for delivery and collection of equipment to and from film studios and regional locations. This could occasionally involve early starts/late finishes.
* Cleaning Equipment – care needed with expensive technical equipment.
* Troubleshooting hardware and software issues on equipment in the warehouse.
* Providing remote technical support to operators in the field via phone/slack.
* Team learning – share all learning opportunities with the team to facilitate collective growth

Other Duties:
* Electric stacker duties – training provided.
* Cable making – training provided.
* PAT testing – training provided.
* Mechanical cart maintenance – training provided.
Candidate Requirements:
* Manual driving licence.
* Flexible attitude to work arrangements including daily tasks and working hours.
* Ability to meet deadlines, delivering consistency in results.
* Flexible approach to their daily tasks and working hours.
* Physically active – moving and handling of equipment required.
* Practical, basic DIY skills.
* Common sense – ability to work unsupervised.
* Conscientious and positive attitude with the ability to work under pressure.
* Flexibility and the ability to juggle tasks – the company priorities change unexpectedly, candidates need to be able to change duties at short notice, in line with the business needs.
* Discretion – working in sensitive areas of film production.
* Computer literate – competent with MS Office – Excel, Word and Apple with ability to learn new programs and applications quickly.
Desirable but not essential:
* Interest in electronics / computers or AV, film equipment.
* Relevant experience with technology and DIY.
* Understanding Carnet or ATA Carnet.
Working Conditions
* 40 hours per week.
* Hours of Business – 7 am to 7 pm Monday to Friday covered in shift patterns.
* Working outside of these core hours will be required from time to time to meet the business needs, including weekend working.
* Working in other regions, including Cardiff and Dublin, as and when required.
* Holiday 23 days per year plus UK bank holidays.
