Role Overview

We are looking for a visionary, commercially minded Head of Brand + Creative to define and lead the next chapter of Sofa Club’s brand evolution. This is a leadership role for someone who understands that modern brands are built through culture, creativity, and commercial impact working together. Sitting at the intersection of interiors, fashion, and digital culture, Sofa Club has the opportunity to build a disruptive and category-defining presence within the furniture industry. The Head of Brand + Creative will lead the overarching brand and creative strategy, ensuring every touchpoint reflects a clear, distinctive, and commercially effective brand identity. From campaigns and content to brand storytelling and creative execution, this role will push creative boundaries while ensuring all activity is aligned to measurable business objectives. You will oversee the evolution of the brand, champion innovative thinking, and build a high‑performing creative function that delivers both cultural relevance and measurable ROI. This is a role for someone who sees what’s next - not what worked yesterday.


Key Responsibilities


Brand Strategy & Leadership

* Lead the development and evolution of Sofa Club’s brand positioning, identity, and long-term brand strategy
* Build a disruptive, culturally relevant brand presence that challenges category norms within the furniture industry
* Champion a clear and compelling brand vision across the business, ensuring alignment across marketing, product, e-commerce, and customer experience on and offline
* Collaborate closely with the Group Marketing Director to align brand initiatives with wider commercial objectives and business growth targets
* Identify cultural, consumer, and design trends to keep the brand differentiated, commercially relevant, and ahead of the market
* Act as the guardian of the brand, ensuring consistency in tone, identity, and storytelling across all channels


Creative Direction

* Lead creative direction across campaigns, content, digital, social, video, retail, and wider brand communications
* Set the creative benchmark across all outputs - ensuring work is distinctive, commercially effective, and culturally impactful
* Push creative boundaries through innovative storytelling, concepts, and campaign execution
* Oversee the end-to-end creative process from ideation through to execution and delivery
* Translate strategic objectives into impactful creative concepts aligned to commercial goals
* Collaborate with photographers, videographers, designers, freelancers, agencies, and production partners to deliver best-in-class creative work
* Ensure all creative output drives measurable engagement, conversion, and brand impact


Team Leadership & Development

* Lead, mentor and inspire the creative team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture
* Create an environment grounded in accountability, creativity, innovation, and continuous improvement
* Provide clear direction, feedback, and development opportunities to support team growth
* Build and refine creative processes and workflows to improve efficiency without compromising creative quality
* Encourage strong cross-functional collaboration across Brand, Marketing, E-commerce, Product, and Social teams
* Support the continued evolution and scalability of the creative department


Commercial Performance & Optimisation

* Ensure all brand and creative activity aligns with wider commercial goals and growth objectives
* Measure and evaluate the effectiveness of campaigns and creative activity to ensure positive ROI and operational efficiency
* Use performance insights, customer data, and campaign analysis to inform strategic decisions and creative optimisationBalance brand-building activity with commercially focused creative execution
* Identify opportunities to improve creative performance across engagement, traffic, conversion, and customer acquisition
* Manage creative budgets and resources effectively to maximise impact and efficiency


Cross-Functional Collaboration

* Partner closely with senior leadership and wider marketing team to ensure cohesive brand storytelling across all channels
* Present creative concepts, campaigns, and strategic initiatives confidently to stakeholders
* Advocate for brand-first and creative-first thinking across the wider business
* Ensure customer insight, market trends, and performance data inform creative decision-making
* Identify opportunities for disruptive campaigns, partnerships, and brand moments that elevate awareness and strengthen market position


Skills & Experience

* Significant experience leading brand and creative strategy within a brand, agency, or high growth consumer business
* Proven track record of building culturally relevant brands and delivering measurable commercial impact
* Strong understanding of brand positioning, creative direction, campaign development, and content strategy
* Experience leading and developing high-performing creative teams
* Commercially astute with a clear understanding of how creative contributes to growth, conversion, and brand equity
* Confidence interpreting data and performance insights to inform creative decisions
* Strong creative instinct with the ability to push boundaries while maintaining strategic focusExcellent stakeholder management and communication skills
* Comfortable working at pace, managing multiple priorities, and leading through change
* Passionate about culture, fashion, design, interiors, and staying ahead of emerging trends
