Respiratory Service Overview
The Respiratory service operates across both the Queens Medical Centre (QMC) and City campuses, requiring cross‑site working. Most inpatient beds are at the City campus, with a 20‑bed Respiratory Assessment Unit (RAU) – including four side rooms – led by a strong multidisciplinary team that includes Advanced Clinical Practitioners (ACPs) and junior doctors. On the QMC campus we have a 12‑bed Advanced Respiratory Care Unit (ARCU), and the team also provides in‑reach cover to the Emergency Department and acute medical admissions at QMC.
