Duties
* To be the first point of contact for all telephone calls and visitors to the YMCA and to deal effectively with queries.
* To deal with emergencies appropriately and complete all necessary paperwork.
* To ensure that only authorised persons have access to restricted areas and that clients visitors only have access according to procedures.
* To ensure that information is relayed to appropriate staff efficiently.
* To ensure that the safety of staff and residents is not compromised.
* Make contact with emergency on call or emergency services if appropriate.
* To provide hand-over to day staff/ night staff to ensure excellent communication is maintained
* Provide support and assistance to individuals in need.
* Monitor and report any changes in the individual's condition or behaviour to the appropriate supervisor or healthcare professional.
* Provide emotional support and companionship to individuals under your care.
* Follow all safety protocols and maintain a safe environment for both yourself and the individuals you are supporting.
Requirements
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with individuals of all ages and backgrounds.
- Compassionate and patient nature with a genuine desire to help others.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Flexibility in working hours
