We’re recruiting on behalf of a growing, values‑led charity, based in St Ives, Cambridgeshire for an experienced Head of Finance. This is a senior role with responsibility for leading the financial function, ensuring strong governance & Compliance, and supporting strategic decision‑making at board level.
You’ll work closely with the CEO, COO and trustees, providing clear financial insight while ensuring the organisation remains compliant within a regulated environment.
Key responsibilities
* Lead the overall financial management of the organisation
* Prepare and present clear financial reports to the Board of Trustees
* Manage annual budgets and maintain a rolling 5‑year financial plan
* Oversee year‑end accounts and manage external audits
* Act as Company Secretary, ensuring regulatory and governance compliance
* Lead and support the Finance and Governance Manager
* Support funding activity such as, attending funder meetings, contributing to funding bids and producing financial reports for funders
* Actively support the work of the senior leadership team, including advising on strategy through financial lens
Who we are looking for:
* Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA)
* Previous experience in a senior finance role within a regulated environment
* Strong technical knowledge across budgeting, forecasting and reporting
* Confident presenting financial information to senior stakeholders and boards
* Experience managing audits and complex financial compliance requirements
* Commercially minded, with the ability to add value beyond the numbers
* Comfortable working autonomously while collaborating closely with senior leaders
* Aligned with a purpose‑led organisation and its values
What's on offer:
* Salary of £50,000 - £55,000, depending on experience
