Location: Overstone Park Independent Therapeutic School, Northampton

Salary: £24,000 per annum before tax and National Insurance
Holiday Entitlement: 13 weeks paid holiday annually
Working Hours
* 35 working hours per week
* 8.00 am to 4.00 pm with one-hour unpaid lunch break
* Paid over 52 weeks
Job Details
The Behaviour Support Learning Mentor will provide a complementary service to teachers and other staff, addressing the needs of children who require assistance in overcoming barriers to learning in order to achieve their full potential, or accessing the curriculum.
The mentor will work with a range of pupils, giving priority to those who need the most help, especially those experiencing multiple disadvantages, including:
* Children with special or medical needs
* Challenging behaviour
* Children with a statement of special educational needs
The role is education-based but also involves working with families and the wider community.
Core Purpose
Working with pupils’ additional needs and behaviour has a significant impact on their attainment. The mentor supports the ethos of the school, helps to minimise barriers to learning, and maximises pupil participation, improving progress and achievement.
Qualifications
* Qualification at Level 3 in childcare or Health and Social Care.
* Training is offered.
* Experience: Three years of working with children or within the care sector.
