We have an exciting opportunity for an innovative School Nurse to join our growing Healthy 0-19 Team.
The role will include advice and liaison with professionals to support children and young people, including but not limited to, those not in education, SEND, children in care, children seeking Asylum, at risk of offending or requiring support around substances or sexual health. .
We are looking for a School Nurse who wants to make a difference to the lives of children, young people and their families and has experience in working in an integrated arena to support best outcomes for health and wellbeing .
As a vulnerable young persons nurse you will provide professional leadership and direction to a skill mix team to enable the efficient and effective delivery of the 0-19 Service.
You will facilitate and deliver a range of assessments, brief interventions and proactive public health initiatives, working both independently and as part of a multi-agency team around the family. Safeguarding will be an integral aspect of the role.
You will be responsible for providing health advisory support to YOS and YDAP and ensure support to the wider 0-19 Public Health Service in developing strength based techniques.
Support the wider 0-19 Public Health Service in understanding opportunities to intervene early with children and young people who may develop offending behaviors, substance misuse and other risk taking behaviours.
You will be an NMC registered nurse who holds a Specialist Community Public Health Nursing (School Nursing) qualification. You will have caseload management experience, along with previous experience of mentoring staff and/or supporting them through preceptorship.
You will possess strong leadership and influencing skills, with the ability to delegate and supervise staff, as well as the ability to recognise and escalate risk and contribute to control measures.
You must possess a full UK driving license and have access to your own transport.
