About This Role
Join CAE’s Civil Aviation Training team as a Lead - Accounting & Financial Reporting and lead our global finance and reporting team as part of our civil aviation division in Crawley at our London-Gatwick Commercial Training Centre.
The role we are offering you
In this role you will be leading a team of 5-6 Financial Analysts and be a part of our Finance leadership team.
Main Responsibilities
1. Responsible for ensuring timely closing of the books including all corporate reporting requirements
2. Responsible for ensuring all statutory requirements and deadlines are met for each of the jurisdictions (taxation, financial statements, VAT tax reporting, etc.)
3. Ensure strong control environment and coordinate across functions to ensure processes evolve as needed
4. Ensure strong balance sheet reviews are performed
5. Act as a liaison between accounting, financial planning & analysis, business development, mergers & acquisitions, treasury, tax, internal and external audit, shared services (AR & AP) and consolidation.
6. Work with civil aviation reporting leader to push standardization initiatives and evolution of controls environment
7. Establish strong working relationships with the business units outside of finance to support growth and strategy execution.
MAIN TASKS:
8. Complete the overall Month End process following the Matrix and Responsibilities to ensure deadlines are met. This will include recurring journals and other journals as required by the business performance team
9. Oversee the monthly inter-company confirmation process (incl unbilled balances) to ensure IC are reconciled
10. Oversee the completion of the different corporate reporting deliverables
11. Ensure timely completion and streamline all revenue reconciliations for the region
12. Ensure completion of the balance sheet reconciliations for each individual entity in the region identifying in a monthly basis R&Os and running the governance on specific items such as leases and loans, prepaids, PO’S, etc…
13. Overall administration of the bank accounts and completion of cash flow forecasts for short term and longer-term funding requirements, including analysis of the actuals
14. Fixed assets governance and IFRS 16 (processing monthly and any amendments/new leases)
15. Overall administration of the expense claim process and ensure that staff expense claims are compliant with corporate policies and procedures
16. Ensure timely completion of VAT returns, WHT, payroll taxes and any other local TAX requirements and associated reconciliations
17. Participate in the preparation of corporation tax computations for all legal entities within the region
18. Lead and/or participate in the internal and external audit process for all legal entities within the region
Our ideal candidate
19. Is fully qualified (ACCA, ACA, CIMA or equivalent)
20. Has previous team management experience (desirable either direct/indirectly/projects)
21. Good leadership & personnel management skills.
22. Good organisational capabilities
23. Full understanding of financial accounting to trial balance
24. Experience of IFRS reporting
25. Able to work successfully with multiple foreign currencies
26. Flexibility to adapt role and tasks to changes in the business
27. Investigation of nominal account ledgers and support in the resolution of queries
28. Able to work in a fast-moving environment, providing accurate and timely information to a high standard
29. Computer skills – capable of learning: financial software applications (ERP), Hyperion Planning, HFM, databases, spreadsheets, PowerPoints and word processing
30. Fluent in English, both verbal and written (additional foreign languages would be an advantage, Spanish, Dutch)

Contract details & location
The position is based at our modern Commercial Aviation Training Centre in Crawley/Gatwick and offer hybrid working, 2 days on-site and 3 days from home. We are offering a permanent contract, working hours of the role are Monday to Friday with total working hours of 39 hours a week.
