Purpose of the Role:
This role is part of the Heritage and TPC Build Team, contributing to the build, assembly, and operation of Formula One cars, collaborating across multiple departments at and away from the McLaren Technology Centre.
Principal Accountabilities:
* Build and prepare Formula One cars, transmission assemblies, sub-assemblies, and support equipment.
* Support the running and servicing of cars at events worldwide.
* Build to McLaren standards, ensuring tasks are completed correctly the first time, often under tight deadlines and pressure.
* Ensure all parts are built to known configurations and conform to build specifications.
* Communicate quality issues related to builds to stakeholders.
* Operate with a 'zero fault' ethos.
* Support and communicate effectively within the Build Team.
* Work may include unsociable hours and significant travel.
* Maintain high attention to detail and adhere to Health and Safety guidelines.
* Occasional support to other operational areas during busy periods.
Job Requirements:
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
* Experience delivering quality components under tight deadlines with conflicting priorities.
* Experience in a highly technical environment.
* Ability to interpret engineering specs and drawings.
* Contribute to fault diagnosis of car components.
* Strong understanding of modern Formula One systems and components.
* Previous motorsport experience.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
