As we start out into our next major investment period (AMP8), you’ll work on a variety of schemes crucial for securing our region’s water supply – from upgrading water treatment works and pumping stations to redesigning parts of a 9,000‑mile network of underground pipelines. This is a fantastic mix of above‑ and below‑ground infrastructure projects that supports our capital delivery programme and delivers high‑quality drinking water to customers every day.
Roles & Responsibilities
* Help senior engineers develop technical solutions for capital projects.
* Assist the engineering team on a variety of projects to ensure smooth, on‑time delivery.
* Create key project documents – scope documents, design drawings, and health and safety (CDM) paperwork.
* Conduct on‑site visits to guide contractors and ensure work meets high standards.
* Monitor project status and inform the Project Manager of any issues affecting timelines or costs.
* Communicate with stakeholders and manage external approval processes.
* Take ownership of your development as part of the graduate training programme, tracking progress and building skills.
Qualifications
* A qualification (HNC, HND, or degree) in Civil Engineering or a similar subject.
* Good engineering sense and a solid grasp of industry standards and best practices.
* Great organisational and time‑management skills – you know how to get things done on schedule.
* Some entry‑level experience in civil engineering projects, perhaps from a placement or internship.
* Full UK driving licence, as you’ll be visiting our sites.
