Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Route Planner to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning and optimising delivery routes, managing sortation processes including unloading of trunk vehicles, and ensuring efficient operations within the morning operation. A forklift licence would be an advantage however training can be arranged. The Route Planner will play a crucial role in driving the completion of daily volumes and collections while maintaining high standards of customer service and communication.
Position is Tuesday to Friday, 3am to 9am and every second Saturday 3am to 9am. Once training is complete, there will be flexibility in the shift pattern.
Responsibilities
* Routing of consignments daily to achieve all deliveries and collections.
* Manage morning tasks to ensure efficient sortation process.
* Utilise web based portals for the routing process, Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook, for data analysis and reporting.
* Maintain accurate records and documentation to ensure compliance with organisational standards.
* Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries and concerns promptly.
* Demonstrate strong leadership skills by guiding team members and fostering a collaborative work environment.
* Conduct regular assessments of processes to identify areas for improvement and implement necessary changes.
Qualifications
* Experience in route planning roles within logistics or supply chain environments is preferred.
* Good geographical knowledge essential.
* Strong computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
* Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
* Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
* A valid driving licence is advantageous.
* Experience in customer service is highly desirable.
