Job Overview
As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing compassionate care and assistance to individuals. Your primary responsibility will be to support clients with daily activities, ensuring their comfort and well-being while promoting independence. This role requires a dedicated individual with a passion for helping others and the ability to adapt to the unique needs of each client.
· To ensure service users are supported to maintain their physical and mental wellbeing.
· To work as part of the day service staff team and support service users to the best of your ability.
· To maintain confidentiality and respect the dignity and privacy of individuals.
· To work alongside your management team to ensure a smooth running of the centre.
· To work with clients to meet their needs including personal care, social, emotional, recreational and learning needs where appropriate in accordance with their care plan or goal plan programme
· To provide emotional support, companionship and a safe environment for those in need of supervision and help.
· To assist with mobility including use of small equipment.
· To assist in events on the programme giving regard to client health and safety, ability, comfort & enjoyment.
· To provide assistance with eating / drinking as required
· To carry out basic first aid and summon emergency services if required.
· To promote equality as an integral part of the role and to treat everyone with fairness and dignity
· To report any concerns about abuse or the welfare or safety of a service use to the services manager
· To comply with GDPR
· To undertake other duties as required, under the direction of the line manager This list is not exhaustive and the duties and responsibilities will vary from time to time according to the needs of the day centres and the clients accessing the day centre
· To work flexibly, to be on time, engage in a variety of tasks.

Personal Attributes – Qualifications and Skills
Relevant experience in social care is desirable.
A positive attitude to older people and commitment to provide stimulating quality activities.
Ability to work within a small team to promote harmonious working relationships.
