Due to internal promotion, we are now looking for a Senior Buyer to join our team and help us to continue to do things the right way for customers, colleagues and the planet. With over 1,000 colleagues in multiple sites nationwide delivering excellent performance, we supply premium cooking oils, and collect organic waste, which is then converted into bio-methane, electricity, heat and organic fertiliser. We are committed to making food sustainable and ensuring that nothing is wasted so we encourage our colleagues to come forward with their ideas Focus on the things that matter and approach every situation proactively and with agility A little bit more about the role: - Centralising purchasing of products and services previously purchased on an ad hoc basis - Managing and assisting with one off and long term projects to create cost savings and efficiency within the business - Manage allocated products and services by negotiating new contracts and currency. Arrange deliveries from appropriate locations to relevant depots to ensure no disruption of stock availability. - Support the end of month update of balances for all stocks, update positions and send to relevant parties. Work with depots to keep forecasts updated. - Ensure purchasing activities are undertaken in line with standardised processes and ensuring best value remains a key focus in all purchasing support activities. - Undertake proactive negotiation and tenders with new/existing suppliers for new/renewed contracts to ensure safety and best value at all times. We will be looking for: - Experience of purchasing ad hoc and contractually based products and services - Experience of undertaking purchasing for a multi-suite organisation - Able to build strong internal and external relationships - Experience of tendering - Demonstrate experience of making data based decisions - Demonstratable experience of delivering activities in line with financial compliance requirements - Disciplined with the ability to manage workloads and prioritise to meeting flexing and tight deadlines - Qualified or working towards CIPS qualification desirable - High level of attention to detail Interested?
