The Role

We are looking for an experienced and forward‑thinking Curriculum Manager for Electrical Installations to lead our electrical training provision within the Construction, Engineering and Green Technologies (CEGT) Faculty at Newham College.

You will be responsible for managing and developing a high-performing suite of Electrical Installation programmes for both 1618‑year‑old learners and adult students, ensuring that the curriculum delivers industry-standard skills, aligns with employer expectations, and supports career progression into apprenticeships, employment, or further study.

You will lead a team of specialist teaching staff, driving excellence in teaching, learning and assessment, while managing resources efficiently and ensuring targets for recruitment, retention, achievement and progression are consistently met.


Key Responsibilities

* Lead and manage curriculum planning, development and delivery aligned with employer and industry needs.
* Line manage and mentor a team of teaching staff, promoting excellence in teaching, learning and assessment.
* Monitor course performance, drive continuous improvement and ensure KPIs are met or exceeded.
* Deliver 712 hours of high-quality teaching weekly as a role model for the team.
* Work closely with stakeholders to enhance learner employability, including work placements and progression opportunities.


Qualifications and Experience

* GCSE English and maths (Grade C/4 or equivalent Level 2)
* Substantial vocational experience in Electrical Installation (e.g. Level 3 NVQ, AM2, 18th Edition or equivalent trade qualifications).
* Proven success in teaching or training within Electrical Installations.
* Experience in curriculum coordination or managing staff/course delivery.
* Strong understanding of industry-standard qualifications, apprenticeships and regulatory requirements.
* Confident in using data and performance indicators to drive improvement.
* A strong leader with excellent communication, organisational and motivational skills.
* Demonstrated commitment to safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion.
