We are looking for a Sales Associate to join our Surgical Technologies Sales team covering South & Midlands of the UK.
Working closely with an experienced Regional Sales Manager, you will develop and foster strong relationships with key opinion leaders. You will take an active part in customer education in the field, supporting the Regional Sales Representatives to achieve greater customer engagement and commercial success with our newly launched Neptune Portfolio. You will actively pursue business opportunities to grow Stryker's business in targeted accounts, always displaying exemplary customer service and patient focus.
In this role, you will:
o Develop the skills required to become an effective sales representative.
o Work closely with the sales team to drive compliance with current contracts.
o Learn and practice techniques to grow sales volume within a defined territory through the Surgical Technologies portfolio.
o Focus on market-leading brands such as Neptune and Safe Air.
o Manage business in accounts within an existing sales territory and be responsible for the day-to-day operations of key accounts.
o Become proficient in handling stock issues, instrument requirements, organizing loan kits, conducting regular customer training, and providing guidance on the safe use of Stryker products within hospitals and operating theatres.
o Support other sales managers to focus on new business acquisition and account development.
Essentially, this is a training role with the goal of becoming a full-time Sales Representative with independent targets and business objectives. Initially, there will be no individual sales target; bonuses will be based on milestones, objectives, and regional target achievement.
In this role, you will support all products within the Surgical Technologies portfolio.
Key accountabilities and responsibilities:
o Learn to manage a territory effectively and grow business in line with national sales objectives.
o Implement and deliver training sessions and workshops on the use of Stryker products to nurses, theatre practitioners, and surgeons.
o Understand customer needs and identify opportunities to promote and sell Stryker’s products, with training provided on basic selling, presentation, and negotiation techniques.
o Manage product provision channels such as consignment of kits or loan services to best meet customer needs.
o Provide excellent customer service within hospitals, building relationships with key personnel and responding promptly to requests.
o Prioritize patient care by recommending only appropriate products.
o Collaborate with the sales team and Business Unit Manager to ensure top-tier customer service. Attend surgeon training meetings and educational conferences.
o Demonstrate high ethical standards, treating customers and colleagues with respect, and representing Stryker positively.
o Conduct trials and evaluations of products in theatre and clinical environments as needed.
o Observe customer needs, follow up on leads, and introduce new or additional Stryker products or support.
o Record customer details and develop a basic business plan with daily, weekly, and monthly objectives, learning to prioritize and allocate resources effectively to grow the business.
Job Requirements
o Sales or business experience is advantageous but not essential.
o Commercial acumen and an interest or experience in customer engagement are beneficial.
o Strong presentation skills with modern media.
o Interest in anatomy and physiology.
o Ability to engage, influence, motivate others, and work diligently.
