About The Role
We are seeking a proactive and customer-focused Assistant Housing Officer to support the delivery of high-quality housing management services. This role plays a key part in sustaining tenancies, supporting resident welfare, and ensuring safe, well-managed neighbourhoods.
Working closely with Housing Officers, tenants and partner agencies, you will provide frontline support, respond to enquiries, investigate issues and contribute to positive outcomes for residents and communities.
What You'll Be Doing
Support the delivery of a responsive housing management service focused on tenancy sustainment and resident wellbeing.
Respond to tenant enquiries, complaints and service requests, managing expectations and resolving issues effectively.
Carry out scheduled and responsive visits, gathering evidence and assessing customer needs.
Maintain accurate case records, reports and documentation using corporate IT and case management systems.
Provide advice and guidance on housing-related matters through a variety of communication channels.
Identify safeguarding concerns and make appropriate referrals in line with policies and procedures.
Ensure compliance with health & safety, equality and data protection requirements.
About You
You will be organised, empathetic and confident working directly with residents, with a strong commitment to customer service and community outcomes.
You Will Have:
Experience working in housing management, maintenance or a customer-facing service environment.
Knowledge of housing or neighbourhood management policies and common tenancy-related issues.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse customers and stakeholders.
Ability to manage competing priorities and remain calm in challenging situations.
Experience maintaining accurate records and preparing clear written correspondence or reports.
Good IT skills, including the ability to input, retrieve and manage information within systems.
A good standard of English and Mathematics.
