We are seeking a proactive Plant Facility Engineer to take ownership of the infrastructure at our clients high-hazard manufacturing site. This is a role where your engineering expertise, attention to detail and commitment to safety will make a direct impact on keeping people safe, operations compliant and the plant running at its best.
With a strong focus on fire prevention, explosion safety, site security and critical building services, you’ll ensure their facility meets the highest UK regulatory standards while supporting continuous improvement and site development.
What you’ll be doing:
* Managing the maintenance, inspection and upgrades of key systems — from gas heating, lifts and roller shutters to explosive storage areas, site lighting and fixed wiring.
* Leading fire & explosion safety systems: detection, alarms, suppression, fire doors, extinguishers, drills and liaison with regulators.
* Overseeing Legionella prevention, ground maintenance and site-wide infrastructure projects.
* Driving compliance by maintaining accurate records, supporting audits and contributing to incident investigations.
* Leading capital projects and facility upgrades, ensuring safety and efficiency improvements are built into the plant’s future.
About you:
* Experienced in facilities or plant engineering/maintenance with strong knowledge of safety and compliance standards.
* Practical understanding of fire safety, site security and risk management in industrial settings.
* Skilled at working with contractors, regulators and internal teams — confident in communication and decision-making.
* Organised, detail-oriented and safety-driven, with the ability to balance hands-on maintenance with documentation and planning.
* Project management experience is an advantage — and while knowledge of explosive safety isn’t essential, full training will be provided.
Why Join Them?
* Work in a critical, high-responsibility role where your engineering expertise safeguards people, plant and compliance.
* Opportunities to lead projects, develop new skills and receive specialist training in high-hazard safety and explosive regulations.
* A supportive, professional environment that values integrity, technical expertise and continuous improvement.
* Competitive salary plus development opportunities in a specialist field.
