Overview:
The Head of Operations is responsible for overseeing the efficient and reliable operation of the trading platform, client onboarding processes, and transaction processing systems within the Crypto-Asset Service Provider (CASP). Based in Malta, this role ensures the continuity and regularity of services, delivering a seamless experience for clients whilst maintaining operational excellence in compliance with the Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA).
The Head of Operations leads the operational team, fostering collaboration and alignment to support the organisation’s strategic objectives in a regulated fintech environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage the functionality of the trading platform, ensuring it operates smoothly, securely, and meets MiCA performance and resilience standards.
* Oversee client onboarding processes, ensuring compliance with MiCA’s client due diligence, anti-money laundering (AML), and know-your-customer (KYC) requirements, while delivering a positive client experience.
* Supervise transaction processing, guaranteeing accuracy, efficiency, and security in line with MiCA and MFSA regulatory expectations.
* Ensure the continuity and regularity of services, implementing robust measures (e.g., contingency plans, IT redundancy) to prevent disruptions and maintain operational resilience as required by MiCA.
* Lead and coordinate the operations team, promoting teamwork and effective communication to achieve departmental goals and support the CASP’s broader objectives.
Qualifications:
* Degree in business administration or equivalent experience in operations management, or a related field, postgraduate qualifications are an advantage.
* At least 7 years of experience in operational leadership, preferably within financial services, fintech, or crypto-asset sectors.
* Strong understanding of trading platforms, client onboarding systems, and transaction processing workflows, with specific knowledge of MiCA compliance requirements.
* Demonstrated ability to ensure service continuity, with excellent problem-solving and organisational skills in a regulated environment.
* Outstanding interpersonal skills, with the ability to unite and motivate the operations team to work cohesively towards common objectives.
