Your role would include:
* Providing teaching and support to pupils with autism, following individualised curriculums
* Planning, preparing, and delivering lessons and activities, focusing largely on life skills
* Supporting pupils' participation in trips, applying theory-based learning to practice
* Providing behaviourally based support to reduce behaviours that impact quality of life
* Providing personal care, encouraging pupils to maintain acceptable levels of hygiene (toileting, feeding)
* Monitoring pupil progress, ensuring teaching is appropriate and effective for pupil needs
* Assisting with breaktime duties including playground support and snack time
Skills and capabilities:
* Minimum Grade C/4 or equivalent, in English Language & Math
* Professional, personal, or voluntary experience of working with children and disabilities
* Comfortable working with children who exhibit challenging behaviour
* Comfortable supporting others with personal/intimate care where required
* Ability to keep calm in high-pressure situations
* Own means of transport, due to location
