Job overview

The Children and Young Persons Specialist Services are patient and family focussed services who work to support children, young people and their families to reach their potential in education and social life. Our team works within the context of the wider Trust which covers all aspects of community healthcare. The team are looking to recruit a Band 6 Specialist Paediatric Physiotherapist working at a Children's Development Centre, within the community, special and mainstream schools.

The team consists of 30 physiotherapists (full and part time) across Nottinghamshire and a team of support staff. As part of the Team around the child, we work closely with our education and OT colleagues, speech and language therapists and nursing.


Main duties of the job

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Specialist Paediatric Physiotherapist based in Nottinghamshire.

The successful post holder will see children and young people age 0-19 years with a wide variety of neurological conditions and those requiring long term functional rehabilitation in the centre, the child's home and schools.

A full UK driving licence and vehicle for business use is required for this post; however reasonable adjustments will be made for disabled individuals in line with the Equality Act 2010.

Please note applicants will be required to pay for their DBS check. Costs are deducted from salary following appointment. The cost of the DBS application is £26.40 (standard) or £54.40 (enhanced), this cost will be deducted from your salary over the first 2 months of employment.
You are encouraged to enrol for the DBS Update Service. An annual fee of £16 per year applies.


Person specification


Qualifications

* BSc/Diploma in Physiotherapy
* HCPC registration
* MSc in paediatric related subject


Training

* Clinical Educator
* Postgraduate training in paediatric specialist areas


Experience

* Experience of working with children with complex conditions
* Working within a multidisciplinary team
* Experience of Audit
* Supervisory experience
* Previous experience of working as a Band 6 paediatric physiotherapist
* Previous experience of working in community paediatric physiotherapy
* NHS Experience
* Experience of service development and standard setting


Knowledge

* Specialist knowledge of community Paediatric Physiotherapy
* Evidence based practice
* Understanding of safeguarding within paediatrics
* Understanding local and national priorities
