Head of Computer Science Teacher – Oldham – September 2024
A dedicated and passionate Head of Computer Science Teacher is required to work at a popular secondary school in Oldham. The position is full-time for 12 months, starting in September, with the likelihood of extension for the full academic year.
You will be involved within the department and school as a permanent member of staff, attending departmental meetings when required, and being available for parents’ evenings. You will plan and deliver engaging, high-standard lessons that challenge students' learning. The school emphasizes an investigative approach that complements their research-based pedagogy. You will also mark student work and provide feedback regularly.
You will be responsible for maintaining high standards within your department by monitoring staff progress and implementing the school's initiatives to improve teaching and learning. Additionally, you will run department meetings and help maintain good behaviour across your subject area.
The school boasts a 'Good' rating for behaviour and attitudes, with students demonstrating respectful behaviour in lessons and around the school. Teachers hold high expectations for pupils' behaviour and achievements. There are also ample opportunities for students to engage with the local community and participate in school life.

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS:
* Degree educated with a good classification, preferably in a science-related subject
* Secondary QTS (PGCE, SCITT, QTS, etc.)
* Previous experience working with young people (references required)
* Experience of teaching in a Secondary School (references required)
* Up-to-date Safeguarding training issued within the last year (training can be provided)
* Up-to-date Prevent awareness training issued within the last 3 years (training can be provided)
* Up-to-date behaviour management and FGM training (training can be provided)
TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:
* Hold Right to Work in the UK
* Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application at a cost of £
* Provide a minimum of two professional references
