Overview
Permanent, full‑time position at Merton College. The role supports students in achieving academic and personal success.
Responsibilities
* Provide comprehensive and flexible support, information, advice, and guidance to learners.
* Work closely with students, staff, and external organisations to safeguard and support students’ well‑being.
* Develop and deliver holistic support plans tailored to individual student needs.
* Facilitate activities and programmes to engage learners within the college community.
* Deliver one‑to‑one interventions, risk assessments, and support plans.
* Provide workshops and tutorials for a diverse student body.
* Market and record service provision using IT systems effectively.
Qualifications
* Level 4 or above in Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) or a relevant discipline such as youth and community work, education, psychology, sociology, or health and social care.
* Proven experience working with vulnerable young people and re‑engaging disengaged students.
* Experience delivering 1:1 interventions and producing risk assessments and support plans.
* Strong safeguarding experience and knowledge of safeguarding legislation.
* Good understanding of post‑16 education services and transition challenges.
* IT skills to market and record service provision.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and ability to build positive relationships with students and external agencies.
Additional Requirements
Work predominantly at Merton but may need to travel to and work from Carshalton College on occasion.
