Aneurin Bevan University Health Board supports flexible working.

There is a temporary top-up for Bands 2 and 3 to reflect the incorporation of the top-up to the living wage of £12.60 per hour (£24,638 per annum). This will be in place until the 2025/26 pay uplift is confirmed.

Job Overview
In-Patient Community RGH & YAB

An exciting opportunity exists in the ABUHB Occupational Therapy (OT) service for a Team Lead Occupational Therapist, who is self-motivated, proactive, and capable of developing care pathways and new ways of working. This role offers a great chance to develop skills within a supportive, fast-paced environment.

Main duties of the job

Demonstrate strong clinical and decision-making skills working with patients with high clinical frailty scores.

Communicate effectively, show initiative, and be flexible in work approach.

Ensure OT interventions are delivered appropriately to meet patient needs and organizational standards for safe, compassionate, high-quality care.

Welsh language skills are desirable; applications from Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome.

Qualifications and Knowledge
Essential criteria

Degree or diploma in Occupational Therapy

Member of HCPC

Post-registration module (CQFW level 7, 20/30 credits) or equivalent

Accredited practice placement educator

Certificate in Leadership and/or Management

Desirable criteria

Member of relevant COT Specialist Section

Experience
Essential criteria

Extensive practice setting experience

Operational management experience

Senior OT level experience

Involvement in planning service delivery

Supervision of less experienced OTs

Desirable criteria

Line management responsibilities

Skills and Attributes
Essential criteria

Ability to assess, plan, and implement specialised treatment

Reflective practice and clinical development skills

Mentoring and supervision capabilities

Knowledge of OT delivery systems and clinical governance

Leadership skills for managing an OT team

Commitment to leadership and clinical skill development

Desirable criteria

Welsh language skills levels 1-5

Other
Essential criteria

Satisfactory Enhanced DBS clearance including Adults Barred List

Ability to travel within geographical areas

Evidence of Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
