The Role
As a member of the Senior Team, working with the Group Central Technical function, the Technical Services Manager will oversee the UK market responsibilities related to product safety, quality, legality, and authenticity.
The role involves direct liaison with customers’ technical functions and suppliers, maintaining high service levels, and managing technical aspects such as specifications, audits, gap analysis, customer site visits, BRC and HACCP maintenance, food labelling, ERP system management, Horizon scanning, shelf-life extensions, traceability, customer complaints, and promoting Food Safety Culture.
You will manage two direct reports, organizing their training and development, and will be encouraged to explore projects for process improvement, with full business support.
This is an office-based position at Norwich, with some homeworking flexibility, and involves UK and international travel.
About You
You should have a degree or HND in a food-related discipline with at least 5 years’ experience in a technical role within a BRC accredited food manufacturing environment in the UK or Ireland. You must be familiar with supply requirements for major grocery retailers and food manufacturers, including compliance standards and codes of practice.
You are personable, hands-on, with strong relationship-building and influencing skills. You should be comfortable with customer-facing interactions and team management, able to make decisions and take initiative. A full, clean driving license is essential.
