This is an excitingopportunity to join a developing new service aimed at improving the well-beingand psychological functioning of young people at Oakhill STC. The serviceprovides weekly individual and group therapy sessions to young people aged 12to 18 years of age with an offending history. You will utilise a variety ofpsychological interventions for both the young person and family membersincluding the SECURE STAIRS framework.

This is an opportunity toprovide specialised Occupational Therapy (OT) interventions within the SECURESTAIRS framework - a joint partnership service between Health and the secureestate for the young people. SECURE STAIRS work within a psychological,trauma-informed framework to aid thetransitioning of young people to prison/secure hospitals from communitysettings, with the MDT providing a holistic approach to recovery.


Main duties of the job

The role involves managinga caseload of service users with complex needs, using evidence based/serviceuser centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions.

As part of the role as alead clinician, you will be responsible for assessment and completion ofcomprehensive formulation of risk and treatment needs. Within the service, youwill work alongside the MDT in the development and delivery of multi-modalgroup and 1:1 therapeutic intervention as well as provide specialistassessments to those being transferred to the secure training facility asrequired. You will also provide support, supervision and leadership within theMDT. You will also hold a caseload of patients with varying difficultiesincluding complete health and social care needs responding effectively to thechanging needs of the patient caseload.

Job Summary

You will also provide support, supervision and leadership within the MDT. You will also hold a caseload of patients with varying difficulties including complete health and social care needs responding effectively to the changing needs of the patient caseload.

Qualifications

* HCPC registered Occupational Therapist.
* Sensory trained (e.g. Ayres Sensory Integration trained)
* Experience in conducting diagnostic neurodevelopmental/ specialist developmental assessments with children and young people.
* Experience working with children and young people with neurodevelopmental disorders or mental health difficulties in a clinical setting.
* Knowledge of DSM-5 diagnostic criteria and appropriate assessment tools for autism and ADHD.
* Knowledge of differential diagnosis.
* Ideally ADOS-2/ ADI-R trained.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
* Experience in report writing and record keeping.
* Additional qualifications in relevant areas of autism and/ or ADHD.
* Clinical Supervision integral to the role.
* Although not essential ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.
