At the NHS, we are reminded every day of how important life is. As a flexible working friendly organisation, we want to be sure that you can work in a way that is best for us and for our patients, and for you. Speak to us about how we might be able to accommodate a flexible working arrangement whether that’s job share, part time or another flexible pattern. In addition, although the role advertised may have a ‘home’ office base indicated, we remain committed to supporting flexibility around workplace locations. If it works for the service, we will do our best to make it work for you.

The successful applicant will be an NHS employee and may therefore have contact with vulnerable service users. During the COVID-19 pandemic, it has been necessary to take significant steps to protect the health and safety of our staff, service users and those attending our sites. Unless exempt, we encourage and support staff to be vaccinated as this remains the best line of defence against COVID-19.

Job overview

An exciting opportunity for a self-motivated, highly organised, adaptable and enthusiastic individual to join our service and support the Penwith Integrated Community Manager (ICM) as their Secretary, based in Hayle. The role also includes supporting the wider West ICMs and leads.

The ICMs help to manage and support the Adult Community Services, including Community Nurses, Community Therapists, Homefirst, and other community teams. It is essential that the applicant has effective organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills, can prioritise work, handle difficult situations, and has a flexible approach to working as part of a team. You should be able to integrate well with existing teams, support their functions, and demonstrate a caring and sensitive approach, with clear communication skills.

Main duties of the job

The purpose of the post is to support the Integrated Community Manager with secretarial duties to help deliver key functions within the integrated community. This involves liaising with teams and partners while maintaining confidentiality, supporting customer care, organising meetings, note-taking, distributing papers, and data entry.

Working for our organisation

We’re an NHS community and mental health provider Trust based in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly, delivering community and hospital-based care to improve physical and mental health, and providing support for dementia and learning disabilities.

We are a people organisation, and your role will support the health and wellbeing of the local community. Our workforce includes over 4,000 staff, working in people’s homes, community clinics, bases, and hospitals. Our aspiration is to have great people, provide great care, and be a great place to work and partner.

Approximately 568,000 people live in our area. We work closely with partners in Devon, especially during holiday seasons when service demand increases.
