This is an exciting opportunity. We are recruiting at Barnet Hospital for Healthcare Assistant Apprentices (HCAs). If you haven’t worked in a hospital before, we offer comprehensive training through our apprenticeship programme. Even if you are fresh from school or college, this is a great way to start a career in the NHS and could lead to nursing.
Apprenticeship Details
• Duration: Minimum of 13 months.
• Band 3 Health Care Assistant Apprentice’s starting salary: £23,332 (including outer London HCAs).
• Upon successful completion of probation and the apprenticeship, salary rises to the bottom of band 3 under the Agenda for Change band (£29,651, including outer London HCAs).

Responsibilities
As a band 3 HCA apprentice you will attend classes and work alongside dedicated colleagues caring for patients. In your role you will:
• Assist patients with personal care such as washing, dressing and feeding.
• Support registered nurses to care for patients.
• Work a combination of long days, weekends, and 12‑hour night shifts (up to 37.5 hours per week).
• Travel to the Barnet Hospital.
