About the Role
As an Assistant Designer, you will be working closely with the Senior Designers on ASOS DESIGN FOOTWEAR, supporting to design all areas of shoes, creating trend lead ranges for our twenty something customer. Candidate has an opportunity to thrive with a high energy team, there is a lot of opportunity to grow a sought after skill set. The role is on a very exciting department, we are looking for someone who loves fashion and has an endless enthusiasm for delivering new ideas and researching the latest trends! What You’ll Be Doing
1. Researching, developing and designing ranges for ASOS DESIGN Footwear, it’s a fantastic opportunity working across all categories of footwear, for both casual and dressy product areas.
2. Identifying key trends, shapes and first to market styles with commerciality in mind, ensuring the most fashion forward range and choice for our global customer base.
3. Create mood and colour boards sharing creative ideas to shape and develop the footwear range predicting trends for the season. This may also include shop, social media, catwalk, street style reports and cultural moments and sourcing new fabrications and trimmings.
4. Working alongside the buying teams to reacted to sales information and present design ideas and develop product to drive the range.
5. Building relations with suppliers and advising factories on direction, construction, key details, materials and trims.
6. Anticipating the needs of our twenty something customer, using sales data, customer profile analytics and trend research to deliver commercial product range
7. Adhering to the critical path to achieve deadlines, ensuring product is developed for the relevant and optimum selling period.
8. Working with the technical team on initial fits. Identifying and helping problem solve for the department.
9. An ability to research and develop unique product working on long lead time product, as well as quick reaction short lead ranges.

Qualifications
Who We’d Like to Meet
11. Previous Footwear design experience for an aspirational Brand or High Street Retailer.
12. Previous experience of working with Far East, European and UK suppliers
13. A strong commercial handwriting and understanding of the ASOS Brand and Customer
14. Passionate about fashion and immersed in trend, a fashion forward eye is key
15. Preferred Photoshop, Adobe, CAD, PLM & hand sketch skills
16. Experience with executing tech packs and sketches for product development for footwear
17. Strong organisation skills and able to use their initiative and to work in a high-pressured environment
18. The ability to build great relationships with colleagues across the business and suppliers alike
19. Someone who is forthcoming and confident in presenting new and exciting ideas back to line managers, wider team and senior leadership.
20. Someone who can identify product opportunity and help drive the brand forward.
21. Comfortable and experienced in travelling in the UK and internationally for supplier/product development meetings and inspirational purposes
